Anti-Slavery Policy

Our Anti-Slavery Policy

‍

Introduction

The term ‘Modern Slavery’ relates to slavery, servitude, forced labour and human trafficking. The CatchUp Academy, as part of the Tempest Resourcing Group, has a zero-tolerance approach to any form of modern slavery in all business and personal dealings. We are committed to the prevention of slavery and human trafficking in all its forms and will not tolerate or condone it within any part of our organisation, supply chain, or the educational settings in which we operate.

We are dedicated to working with integrity, transparency and ethical practices, and to implementing effective processes and controls to safeguard against any form of modern slavery.

Due to the nature of the education sector, tutors, contractors, temporary workers and other individuals engaged in educational support services may be at greater risk of exploitation where support networks are limited. The CatchUp Academy is committed to ensuring all individuals engaged through our services are treated fairly, lawfully and with respect.

‍

Organisational Structure, Business and Supply Chains

The CatchUp Academy operates throughout the United Kingdom and provides tuition, alternative provision and educational support services to schools, local authorities, trusts, families and learners.

As part of the Tempest Resourcing Group, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding, compliance and ethical conduct. Whether we are delivering one-to-one tuition, small group learning, specialist educational support or alternative provision, we ensure the welfare and protection of both the learners we support and the tutors and professionals engaged in our services.

‍

Our Policies in Relation to Slavery and Human Trafficking

The CatchUp Academy adheres to several internal policies that support our commitment to ethical and transparent business operations. These include:

  • Modern Slavery Statement – Outlines our zero-tolerance stance on slavery and human trafficking.
  • Whistleblowing Policy – Encourages employees, tutors and contractors to report any concerns about unethical practices, including modern slavery.
  • Quality Assurance Policy – Ensures our processes meet high ethical and operational standards.
  • Corporate Social Responsibility Policy – Highlights our dedication to ethical practices and community wellbeing.
  • Environmental Policy – Reflects our commitment to sustainable practices.
  • Health & Safety Policy – Ensures the wellbeing of our employees, tutors, contractors and learners.
  • Safeguarding Policy – Ensures the protection and welfare of children, young people and vulnerable individuals.

We regularly review and update these policies to reflect evolving best practices and legal requirements.

‍

Due Diligence Processes

We consider our business to be a low-risk organisation in relation to modern slavery and human trafficking. We adhere to stringent recruitment, safeguarding and compliance procedures, reinforced by our Modern Slavery Statement and Anti-Slavery Policy, demonstrating our commitment to preventing exploitation and maintaining transparent operations throughout our organisation and supply chains.

Our onboarding processes include thorough vetting, safeguarding and compliance checks for all tutors, employees and contractors to ensure the suitability, safety and integrity of those delivering services on our behalf.

‍

Our Performance Indicators

We measure the effectiveness of the steps and policies we have implemented to prevent human trafficking and modern slavery through:

  • Receiving no reports of modern slavery concerns from employees, tutors, contractors, clients, learners, the public or law enforcement agencies.
  • Prompt investigation and resolution of any concerns raised regarding potential exploitation or unethical practices.
  • Ongoing monitoring of safeguarding, compliance and recruitment processes.

‍

Training

Staff are trained to recognise the signs of modern slavery through ongoing training and awareness programmes. Refresher training is undertaken regularly to ensure knowledge remains current and that all individuals understand their responsibilities in preventing slavery and human trafficking.

‍
