Carbon Reduction Plan

Carbon Reduction Plan

Supplier Name: The Catchup Academy
Publication Date: 1st December 2025

Commitment to Achieving Net Zero

The CatchUp Academy, as part of the Tempest Resourcing Group, is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions for those emissions it directly influences by 2040 and those it indirectly influences by 2045.

‍

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction will be measured.

‍

Baseline Year: 2025
Additional Details Relating to the Baseline Emissions Calculations

No prior emissions have been measured.

2025–26 will be the first year in which The CatchUp Academy aims to measure carbon emissions across its business activities in order to establish a baseline against which future reductions and progress towards Net Zero can be measured.

Due to the nature of our operations as a provider of tuition, alternative provision and educational support services, it is anticipated that carbon emissions directly influenced by The CatchUp Academy will be relatively low. Many sustainable practices are already embedded within the business, helping to minimise environmental impact.

Emissions Reduction Targets

In order to continue our progress towards achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.

We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years as a result of practices already in place, alongside new initiatives we plan to introduce.

Once baseline measurements have been established, we aim to reduce the carbon emissions we directly influence to 20% of current reported tCO2e by 2035 and reduce indirect emissions by 50% over the same period.

‍

Carbon Reduction Projects
Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented prior to the measurement of our baseline:

  • Hybrid and remote working arrangements wherever possible
  • Consolidated office-based operations
  • Digital-first approach to administration, communication and service delivery
  • Adoption of digital technologies and online learning platforms
  • Reduced reliance on printed materials and paper-based processes
  • Support for environmental initiatives, including carbon offsetting where appropriate
  • Use of environmentally conscious suppliers to support business operations
  • Employee benefits including cycle-to-work schemes, car-sharing and promotion of electric vehicles
  • Recycling initiatives and use of recycled products within offices
  • Use of sustainable energy and utility providers where available
  • Energy and natural resource conservation measures across office locations

‍

Future Carbon Reduction Initiatives

In the future, we hope to implement further measures including:

  • Further reductions in energy and water consumption across properties controlled or occupied by the business
  • Working with landlords to implement energy and water-saving measures in leased premises
  • Working with landlords to utilise greener energy suppliers where possible
  • Review of supplier selection and due diligence processes, including the introduction of environmental KPIs
  • Ongoing review of carbon offsetting and sustainability initiatives
  • Identification of efficiencies in educational technology and digital tools to reduce carbon emissions
  • Implementation of a robust environmental management policy and framework
  • Investigation of certification and accreditation schemes such as ISO 14001
  • Production of an annual sustainability and carbon reduction report
  • Continued development of online and remote learning solutions to reduce unnecessary travel

Declaration and Sign Off

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 006 and associated guidance and reporting standards for Carbon Reduction Plans.

Emissions will be reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol Corporate Standard and will utilise the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas reporting.

Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions will be reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions will be reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard.

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and approved by the senior management team of The CatchUp Academy and the Tempest Resourcing Group.
